I love this topic Randy! Yes, sales volume is certainly important, and we need constant sales in order to grow. However... There are several factors that contribute to what we decide to offer our clients, and one of those important factors is demand. So far, the response to the push-pull design has outpaced the inquiries for the all-pull model. There are several possible reasons why this is happening, but our data shows that the tone is the primary qualifier to our buyers. Any design and operational improvements you referring to are rarely referenced by the majority of those inquiring. Surprisingly, we have discovered that this topic is mostly isolated to the small percentage of players who actually know (with certainty) what the claimed design and operational improvements are. There is some ongoing debate as this community has strong opinions on both sides. 😜 With our split tuning capabilities, mechanical ease of play, and tuning stability, buyers seem pretty satisfied. We've discovered that new players just coming into it do not carry a bias to all-pull setups, as they don't know the difference either way. They are unaware of the myths surrounding push-pull guitars, so they just jump right in without reserve. Others have rarely had the chance to play a push-pull that was properly set up, so they may have a skewed perspective due to that experience. So many guitars were messed up and tinkered on by people who are not remotley qualified to do so, and those sad guitars unfortunately remain in circulation, supporting the myth that push-pulls are inherently problematic and inferior by design. The ReSound'65 plays and feels like an all-pull. Obviously, heavy rigs like 8x8 tend to get a bit stiffer, but our standard (8x5 or 3x5) setups are just golden. Still yet, this alone will not necessarily win over the all-pull enthusiasts and we total understand that. There will be those who have no interest in push-pull guitars, and that is perfectly ok as everyone has various preferences. We feel the push-pull that Buddy imagined (in the beginning) didn't really have a chance to thrive as evolutions to the design emerged so quickly from the orginal. There were so few 65' wraparound models built, that most have never even had a chance to play or hear them. We intend to give the original design a chance to make its mark in the modern era, and afford this generation an opportunity to fall in love with this timeless tone monster. Will we offer an all-pull design? Let's just say we definitely intend to offer an innovative and alternative design eventually - when the time is right for our organization. Meanwhile, the PSG market is full of all-pull guitar builders offering basically the same thing. We feel our product is unique and interesting, setting us apart. So far, our ReSound'65 sales reflect certain enthusiasm and people are pretty excited about it, so we'll allow it plenty of time/space to flourish and establish itself before we introduce a competing product. At least that is the plan for now. :)
