Darin Shiflett was born on May 16th,1977 in Tifton, GA. His life began as the youngest of three children with parents who were in full-time Christian ministry. The family traveled, ministered, sang, and played all over the south-eastern U.S., and eventually served as missionaries in American Samoa, and Hawaii. Later on Darin began working a summer job at Lithonia Signs at the age of 13. He went on to become shop foreman at 19 years old, and then on to small business ownership at age 20. His first company, Advanced Signs Inc., would go on to specialize in architectural signage, ornamental metals, and specialty construction as he had become a journeyman fabricator. As his career progressed, he entered structural engineering, CAD and 3D design wich led to other forms of design and media.

While he continued his day job advancing through the ranks of the corporate scene, he occupied his nights and weekends playing, singing, writing, and producing with various acts and groups. He began a solo career in country music, and operated a small private recording studio in east Atlanta, GA. He enjoyed being creative and active in several genres of music including, southern gospel, contemporary Christian, country, and bluegrass. In 2009, Darin encountered a divorce that left him severely off balance, and began a spiral of dark events that were painful, costly and very difficult. He ended his country music pursuit in the interest of stabilizing and focusing on his spiritual, emotional, and financial well being. He recovered supernaturally and become stronger and wiser through intense prayer, counsel, and self discipline. He soon remarried an amazingly gifted, and wonderful woman, Amanda Shiflett, who helped him become the best version of himself possible, and encouraged him to pursue the plans God had for his life.

With his talent and skills acquired from performing, he merged audio and sound into his professional resume, and started a creative agency, LIFE designs+ media, that specialized in a broad spectrum of media and marketing solutions. These services included graphic design, web creation, CAD drawings, advanced 3D animation, motion graphics, sound and lighting, installation and service.

In the most recent years, he specialized as a creative strategist in the field of experiential marketing. The past 30+ years has afforded Darin the opportunity to evolve into the entrepreneur, inventor, musician, and artist he is today.

In 2020, Darin joined forced with Kelcey O'Neil in acquiring the Emmons® trademark, and relaunching Emmons Guitar Co. in order to restore a brand, and instrument that had been introduced in the early 60's by a genius innovator/player, Buddy Emmons. Together they worked through the painstaking task of reverse engineering a vintage 1965 push-pull Emmons Original, to produce a re-issue or "Gen2" guitar. The ReSound'65™ is what resulted in this monumental effort, and is just the beginning of a new, innovative line of Emmons pedal steel guitars.

His strong faith in Jesus Christ is his anchor, and empowers him to journey on towards his Kingdom mandate, which is to love people, train and equip leaders, and make a positive, global impact. He is married to Amanda Shiflett, and together they serve as co-founders of Kingdom Life Ministries in Sevierville, Tennessee.
