Greetings! I apologize for my absence on this sight. I have not commented since June 2022, and I am about to turn 68 in a few days. My wife Suzanne, and I have been writing and making music everyday for the past year and the Resound 65 has become an integral part of the process.
Looking back on my previous post, I stated that I was using a Fender Tone Master (black), from there I bought the Blonde version (great).
I thought ,OK ,I'm good to go. In October of 2022 Darin invited me to attend a Desert Rose concert at the Academy of Country music in Nashville, Tn. I live in North Ga. I was at a VFW performing when he called that Friday night (concert was on Sunday). I said "Heck Yeah!" or something like that, and Sunday after church I was cruisin' on up to Nashville. That whole trip meeting up with Darin and Kelcey and Amanda is a story for another time. It was a spiritual filled ride up.
After the concert (another great story) I told Darin I wanted to look for a Peavey amp for the Resound. He suggested Johnny and Sue King. They have a hands on store filled with Steels of many types. I paid them a visit. It was a good day! I acquired a Peavey LTD 400 with a JBL 15.
From my weekend gigs with a traditional Country Band I would have 80 miles of travel one way to stay alert and fill the time. I began to listen to a lot of Patsy Cline and Ray Price. The early to mid 1960's. Listening to Emmons tone and playing on a medium tempo shuffle with tic-tac bass and light drums at 1:00 am on a quiet highway is like church for a Steel man. That's the sound I want to emulate as close as I can! When a player has tone like that available for ones music, it makes the simplest of phrases sound startling authentic! The Resound 65 Pickups will provide that tone, should you desire it. The construction and tuning are inspiring.
The instrument is just beginning to realize itself. Have a great day.

Hey Everyone,I have myResound 65 set up and this is my 2nd day in a row to set at it. First of all ,it's the nicest most powerful and articulate steel guitar I have ever sat down to.I am playing it through a Fender Tone Master black twin, and a slide rig for compression on ballads. Got the vol on 3.5, Treble around5.5,Mid around 3,Bass on 4, verb around 4.5 . It does everything I try to do, long slides, intervals, articulate in the 16th notes, and in TUNE!!!!!!! My HEART! Just gonna have some fun with it for a week, no outdoor stuff, only in the climate controlled venues. The pro II will work for outdoor stuff for a while longer. I am particularly drawn to the pick up on the Emmons. Not shrill, sweet, not mid filled, just forward feeling, not woofy on the bass, but punchy. Every note is heard man! That's all..for now!
